ABB's e100 control products provide a cutting edge solution to machine control. The e100 family includes compact single phase drives, three phase AC drives with DC bus energy sharing and ABB's MINT motion control technology. NextMove e100 panel mount solutions and intelligent drive options combine with real-time Ethernet, to provide a platform for implementing a wide variety of machine control applications

Integrated real-time Ethernet

Ethernet is now the de facto standard for motion control in automation. With thousands of installed nodes, Ethernet POWERLINK has led the way in realtime Ethernet since its beginnings in 2003. POWERLINK communication software is integrated within all of ABB's e100 products as standard, and is the core around which its flexibility and scalability is achieved. e100 products can also operate in a non realtime mode using TCP/IP communications for less demanding applications.

Versatile, yet easy to use

Motion control systems can be up and running quickly thanks to ABB’s MINT programming language. MINT is a versatile, yet easy to use, Basic like programming language. A wide range of programmable moves are supported including trapezoidal, S-ramp, linear and circular interpolation, helical interpolation, electronic CAM, gearbox and flying shear. User defined profiles can be added using the supplied embedded ‘C’ libraries. MINT also supports full control of the I/O and communications back to a host controller. Machine level networking and optional operator panel control can all be controlled under a single MINT application program.

Free software tools and activeX components

A complete set of ActiveX components are supplied with the controllers, allow full motion and I/O sequencing to be performed on a host PC. Application programs can be written in popular programming languages such as Visual Basic™, Delphi and LabView.

The motion controllers are complemented by a complete range of servo drives.
